Pre-Induction

Soon after we completed our admission procedures, we were
asked to fill up a Google form on the facebook page. A couple of days later, we
received an email from the SIMSREE induction committee welcoming us and then
providing us the information about when the college will begin. They also told
us that out Pre-Induction assignments will begin on 20th July.
A whatsapp group of all the students who had taken admission
to SIMSREE was formed. Yashodhan from the Media and Marketing committee was the
admin of the group. He patiently resolved all our doubts. Silly or genuine, he
replied to everyone.
On 20th July at 12:01am we received our 1st
pre-induction assignment. We were given time until 11:59pm on 20th
July. Initially I took it lightly, thinking the assignment was easily doable,
and started late. I missed the deadline on the 1st assignment
itself. This taught me my first lesson in MBA. Never take things lightly.
Always first complete the work.
SIMSREE has a tradition of collecting fines from those who
don’t come on time or those who do not submit their assignment or project on
time. I realized that I had to pay the fine for the first assignment. So
henceforth, I submitted all my assignments on time. The assignments we a mix of
all the important and basic concepts that we ought to know before we enter a
B-school. There were some difficult concepts which helped us improve our
knowledge.

We were also told that we had to be thorough with all the
assignments as any of the question could be asked during the induction period.
In the end we also had to submit presentations. All the assignments and
presentations made me realize that MBA is not going to be all that easy.

CET Exam Reults

The CET exam results were announced on 23rd March, 2016. Everyone was excited to know what their scores were. People know that to get admission into the top colleges through CET, they have to get 99.xx Percentile.
I was working in my office attending a client call. My whatsapp was flooded with messages at 5pm, asking me my score. But somehow I couldn’t check my score until the call was over as my client was trying to give me a lot of ‘gyaan’. Post the call at 8pm I finally rushed out the conference room and to my desktop. But to my disgust, the DTE site was blocked in my office. To add to my frustration, my superfast speed 3G Vodafone internet could not get connected at my work area.
So, I decided to complete my work ASAP and get out of the office to check my CET score. Finally at 10pm I moved out of the office and my internet got connected. I quickly checked my score and Hurray!!! It was 99.xx Percentile. I reached home and started my research to check the trend of admissions to the top colleges in Mumbai. I was satisfied to know that I could easily get admission to SIMSREE.

The facebook groups were formed and people started asking all the usual questions. The Media and Marketing Committee of SIMSREE very patiently addressed all the queries of the SIMSREE aspirants. The admission process of DTE was delayed as always. It started at the end of May, 2016. The 1st CAP round began in mid-June. Finally I got admission the B-School of my choice.
